In 2010, while recovering from a serious bout of cancer, I started making mirrors out of discarded shells to stay busy. Everyone thought they were beautiful and thus, Chatham Coastal Creations began to flourish.
As a commercial fisherman, I never thought I would be creating what some people call art out of something I have discarded for years. I’ve gotten my foot in several local gift shops, where my latest creation of sea shell silhouettes, cut out using a water laser jet, have grown in popularity.
Our standard product line consists of sea shell mirrors, sea scallop shell ornaments, and shell house numbers.
It is pretty neat to make art out of something Mother Nature has produced.
